Christmas Gift Guide 2022

Christmas is lighting up the horizon and I am excited. It’s hard to deny that Christmas magic! I love the indulgence of a mince pie with a steaming cup of mulled wine, and there’s nothing quite like ending a walk on a crisp winter’s day by catching up with friends in a cosy, fairy-light wreathed pub. However, the one part of the season that can be either a treasure or a torture is buying Christmas gifts. There’s nothing worse than struggling to think of the right present for someone. And although I really love taking my time to find thoughtful gifts for my friends and family, I don’t want it to take over the whole of Christmas! So, to help you start ticking presents off your Christmas list, we’ve put together the Billy Christmas Gift Guide 2022.

A place to unwind: journaling for an HSP

For some reason I have always found the last quarter of the year quite stressful. Heading back to school or uni, or back to work after a summer holiday certainly require some settling in time. But for those who identify as a highly sensitive person, or HSP, this can be a difficult season. Making time to withdraw, de-stress and recharge is vital, and journaling for an HSP can create a place to unwind and focus on personal wellbeing.

To Plant a Garden

It’s easy to get caught up in the fun of the here and now when thinking of autumn activities. However, if you want to plant a garden that is a sanctuary for bees, butterflies and other pollinators come spring, now is the perfect time to do it. I have always wanted to have an area of my garden dedicated to a wildflower meadow… Although “meadow” would be a very generous term for the space I have! I’m making plans and taking steps now to create an environment that will be filled with beauty and biodiversity by next year.

Creating a notebook for Autumn Foraging

The start of September means that the last days of summer are just around the corner and although I’ll miss the long evenings, the start of autumn also brings new, exciting opportunities for outdoor adventures. The heat waves across the UK aren’t the only recent record breakers; My anxiety about climate change has also been hitting an all time high. I understand that increased awareness of the issues is important, however I find the feelings of powerlessness surrounding the climate crisis to be completely overwhelming. In my search for how to cope with this, I’ve discovered that journaling is recommended as a way to create calm in a world that seems to constantly be on fire.
